Future Perfect Tense is used to indicate a future action that will have been completed before another definite time or event in the future.





Ways to form the Future Perfect Tense

Affirmative Sentence

The formula for Future Perfect Tense Affirmative Sentence is as such:

Subject + shall / will + have + Verb (past participle / 3rd form) + Object (optional)

Example:

I shall have finished my homework.
He will have gone to work.

Negative Sentence

The formula for Future Perfect Tense Negative Sentence is as such:

Subject + shall / will + have + not + Verb (past participle / 3rd form) + Object (optional)

Example:

You will have not watched a movie.
She will have not gone to school.

Interrogative Sentence

The formula for Future Perfect Tense Interrogative Sentence is as such:

Shall / will + Subject + have + Verb (past participle / 3rd form) + Object (optional)

Example:

Shall I have finished my homework?
Will she have gone to school?

Negative Interrogative Sentence

The formula for Future Perfect Tense Negative Interrogative Sentence is as such:

Shall / will + Subject + not + have + Verb (past participle / 3rd form) + Object (optional)

Example:

Will you not have just watched a movie?
Will he not have gone to work every day?

Uses of Future Perfect Tense

The Future Perfect Tense is mainly used as:

1. To talk about an action completed action which will be completed at some point in time in the future

For example

I shall have reached home by late night.
He will have completed graduation by next year.
